Welcome Home
Warm cinnamon and rich brown sugar greet you first, followed by the comforting sweetness of slow-simmered apple butter. A soft clove finish lingers in the background, creating a cozy, familiar scent that feels like home the moment you walk in.
Appalachian Spirit
A bright fragrance that captures threessence of the people of Appalachia. Green, citrusy, fresh top notes with floral middle notes of rose, jasmine & lily enhanced by long lasting woody, musky, earthy, amber & sweet cotton candy type bottom notes.
Orange Blossom & Vanilla
This scent begins with radiant top notes of neroli, tangerine, and bergamot that burst with brilliance. Delicate orange blossom unfurls in the heart—and deftly bridges the sparkling citrus notes to a base of sea salt, creamy vanilla, and sun-weathered cedarwood. This fragrance is infused with natural essential oils including orange, cedarwood, oakmoss, and ylang ylang.
Lavender, Chamomile and Sage
A luxury blend of herbs, lavender, and aromatic woods. Sage, rosemary, and chamomile awaken the earthiness of lavender, while hints of sandalwood and cedar in the base are reinforced by clove, lavandin, and cedarwood essential oils.
White Tea & Thyme

Candle Care and Safety
At Sage Heron Candle Co., each candle is hand-poured to order with care and intention. To ensure the safest burn and the best scent experience, please follow these simple guidelines:
Before You Burn
• Our candles are poured to order. Allow your candle to cure for at least seven days — ideally two weeks or more — for the richest scent throw when lit.
• Trim your wick to ¼ inch before each lighting. Untrimmed wicks can cause high flames, uneven burning, and soot buildup on the container.
• Ensure the surface beneath your candle is heat-safe and level before lighting.
During the Burn
• The first burn is the most important — allow your candle to burn 3–4 hours or until the melt pool reaches the container’s edges. This prevents tunneling and helps your candle burn evenly every time.
• A small ring of wax after the first burn is normal. As the candle burns lower, future melts will even it out.
• Never burn your candle more than 4 hours at a time without trimming the wick and relighting.
• Keep your candle away from drafts, fans, and curtains to prevent uneven burning.
• Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
For Wooden Bowl Candles
• Always burn on a protected, heat-safe surface.
• Though rare, small natural cracks in the wood can expand during burning and may allow wax to leak. Extinguish immediately if this occurs.
Safety First
Never leave a burning candle unattended or out of sight.
Extinguish the flame if it becomes too high or flickers excessively.

Welcome—I’m Mary, a Nurse Anesthetist by profession and the maker behind Sage Heron Candle Co., where creativity and clean, non-toxic fragrance come together.
My work is grounded in precision, safety, and creating a steady sense of calm—values that naturally shape the way I create. After long days spent in a demanding clinical setting, candle making became my way of slowing down and reconnecting with my creative side, working thoughtfully with my hands and intentionally chosen materials. What began as candles poured for friends and family grew into a small-batch fragrance studio focused on clean, non-toxic ingredients, timeless design, and scents that feel familiar and comforting. Every candle, room spray, and perfume I make is crafted with intention and attention to detail, using essential-oil infused fragrances free from harmful toxins—designed to support the simple rituals that help a house feel like home.

• Eco-Friendly Materials: All of our candle containers are 100% recyclable and intentionally designed to be refilled or repurposed into timeless pieces of home décor.
• Natural Wood Bowls: Each of our hand-carved dough bowls is one-of-a-kind, varying slightly in size and shape. We treat every bowl with an eco-friendly fire retardant before sealing and filling it with wax. For safety, always burn on a plate or heat-safe surface, especially during the first long burn, as natural wood can occasionally develop small cracks or knots that may cause wax to leak.
• Sustainable Wicks: We use only 100% cotton wicks or FSC-certified wooden wicks sourced from sustainable U.S. forests and handcrafted for a clean, even burn.
• Kind to All: Our candles are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and made without animal-derived ingredients.

We pour each candle by hand using clean-burning coconut based wax blends, premium fragrance oils, and lead-free wicks. Our packaging is thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind — from plantable dust covers to reusable vessels and recycled materials. Every detail is intentional, creating candles meant to be enjoyed, gifted, and cherished long after the flame has faded.
